Terence
Harold Robsjohn-Gibbings (1905–1976) was a British-born architect
and furniture designer who’s work greatly influenced American interior and
product design. His aesthetic and designs have been widely copied. From 1943–1956,
he worked as a designer for the prominent American furniture company, Widdicomb Furniture Company, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Works by the Widdicomb Furniture Company can be found in the collection of the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum.
The
design work of T. H. Robsjohn Gibbings is hallmarked as a modern mixture of the
classical elements of Ancient Grecian and Art Deco designs.
