Modern Carrara Marble Lamp in the Manner of T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings




Block column Carrara marble lamp with chrome and silver hardware. Contemporary faux silk black drum lampshade optional.

Terence Harold Robsjohn-Gibbings (1905–1976) was a British-born architect and furniture designer who’s work greatly influenced American interior and product design. His aesthetic and designs have been widely copied. From 1943–1956, he worked as a designer for the prominent American furniture company, Widdicomb Furniture Company, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Works by the Widdicomb Furniture Company can be found in the collection of the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum.

The design work of T. H. Robsjohn Gibbings is hallmarked as a modern mixture of the classical elements of Ancient Grecian and Art Deco designs.

Guillaume Azoulay (1949- ) is an Israeli/American artist known for his abstract painting and etchings. Born in Casablanca, Morocco by the age of thirteen he was sketching and selling his drawings on the street and at fairs. He has held major exhibits in Rome, Copenhagen, Monte Carlo, Reno, Paris, TelAviv and many other cities. His works are found in the collections of former President Ronald Reagan, Francois Mitter and, the late Anwar Sadat, King Hassan II of Morocco, Prince Rainier and Prince Karim Aga Khan.
 In 1978 two of his works were accepted into the permanent collection of the Louvre Museum in Paris and is the youngest artist to be accepted in the permanent archives of the Louvre.

The back is centered with a cartouche of a male figure holding a scythe and is harvesting wheat.

A Rare Round Tilt Top Cast Iron Table




With decorative border over ornate baluster pedestal base ending in tripartite feet. The hinged top tilts and locks upright for display or storage.

Signed two times by the Rudy Groeger foundry under the top and the base.

This table form was illustrated in many 19th century iron foundry catalogs. Very few of these tables survived the war effort, because of the need to re-purpose iron.

Table was received very rusted and has been meticulously restored to its original condition and is freshly painted white.
