carved walnut open armchair of Louis XV design with moulded cartouche-shaped
back, scrolled down curved arms, serpentine seat rails on cabriole legs, with
original needlepoint upholstery. The
needlepoint featuring a complex design of interlocking geometric trellis and
leaves on a black background and muted colors of ochre yellow, sky blue, olive
green, and mauve red. Red and cream gingham silk fabric on the backside.
